| My lack of posting here within the last month has actually been somewhat intentional. I decided when I got back from vacation, for a few reasons, that I want to only have one public blog, and xanga isn't it. I'll probably still log in to read entries and/or comment since it's the easiest way to keep up-to-date with all you xanga-ites, but please read me elsewhere:
same username as here, at blogspot dot com. (I hope the way I phrased it makes sense but will keep the bots from mining the data.) See you on the flip-side.

| We went to the mall today, Sawgrass Mills. It was pretty fun
(though tiring), and I got some cute clothes for not very expensive:
great jeans at Banana Republic (on sale plus coupon), black patent
slingback flats, a short-sleeve jacket from Forever 21 (which we don't
have at home) and a cute notebook/journal for $1. The jeans will need
to be tailored (they're too long), but they were all great finds. The
rest of the fam seemed to have good shopping results too.
I have
this as my current twitter post right now too, but does anyone know if
I can bring tennis rackets (in a carrying case) on the plane as my
carry-on luggage?
I'm hoping we can go watch Oceans 13 tomorrow, or at least before Saturday.
Yesterday
morning some of us cousins (8 total) went out to Mulligans for
breakfast. I ordered chocolate chip pancakes and an egg, and tried my sister's Florentine Eggs Benedict. The place was a little
restaurant/bar a mile away at most. But it was a relaxing and fun
relational time. In my opinion it was a brilliant idea.
| Vacation has been nice so far. I've finished one book and am part of
the way through two others. Sunday and Monday it was rainy most of the
afternoon both days, but today it was sunny all day. That was nice.
My
cell phone has been acting weird today. Around 11:00, at the beach, it
started acting like it was charging when it wasn't plugged in, and kept
doing that all afternoon after rebooting it and taking out the battery.
And just 20 minutes ago, it voluntarily went into an endless cycle of
powering up and down. I don't know if it will send and receive calls or
not. Weird. Needless to say, I'm hoping a trip to the Verizon store is
in the near future. | | |
| There's a marathon of Kyle XY on the Family Channel today...and yes I'm watching it in the background at the moment. It's actually kinda interesting.
This week was busy but good. Had a few movie nights w/ friends. Watched The Holiday on Monday night, and really liked it. Went to the gym on Tuesday evening, then we had our small group game night. It was really fun. There was some tasty pesto shrimp fettuccine, and my team definitely won Cranium. I think I've found someone I can play tennis with too, so that's exciting. Haven't gotten to see any of the new summer movies in theaters yet though. Maybe in a week or two.
I can't believe how fast May flew by. And now we're starting the 2nd full week of June.
| The Friday before I went to Indiana for a friend's bridal shower and then camping, my car got a nice makeover. In other words, I took it to get the oil changed and an interior cleaning, and decided to also
get a Rain-X treatment and new wiper blades. They also added wiper
fluid, which I had needed for a few months. I was happy to have a clean
and slightly upgraded car...but I do need to tidy it up again since
that weekend.
Sunday afternoon I checked Expedia for plane
ticket prices (to get a flight home at the end of vacation), and I
think they weren't too bad, but then the next morning when I checked,
they had risen drastically. Thankfully, on Tuesday my dad told me about
kayak.com which is another place to find cheap tickets. They found me a
ticket for $148, and when we went to the actual Delta site, it was a
few dollars cheaper. So I booked and reserved that flight right then
and there. It was a good price at ideal traveling times, and a convenient airport too.
Just today I downloaded and installed iTunes on my
personal computer for the very first time, and purchased an album. It
took a while to get it installed, and I hope it doesn't eat a lot of my
memory/disk space. But I think I'm happy with it. Talk about being a
late adopter though...
For anyone who watches and likes Stargate (SG-1 or Atlantis), I just recently found Joseph Malozzi's (one of the producers) blog
last week. Maybe I was the last person to find out about it, I don't
know. But it's interesting. He blogs about more than the tv shows,
including a lot of unofficial restaurant reviews, and it seems like he
includes pictures in every post. You do have to be ware of spoilers
though.
I went to Old Navy yesterday and bought some summer
clothes. I *think* they were all things I needed, so I'm not sure if
I'm going to return any or not.
I haven't seen Pirates 3 or
Spiderman 3 yet, and I want to. Shrek the Third looks good too, but I
don't really care if I wait till it's on video. And Ocean's 13 opens
next week I think. I'm excited about that.
